Playing at the Friday night Swingin’ Sixties fancy dress night at the RICC will be
the 60s multi-hit Liverpool recording group - The Searchers.They are still stupendous
and have promised to play all their top twenty hits - that should take most of the night! |

The Searchers are one of the few British pop groups who have maintained their position at the top
for well over 40 years and are rated second only to the Beatles as Liverpool's finest 60's group. |

The Searchers are at present in the last few weeks of the Solid Silver 60s UK Tour.
They are the headline act, and the show also features the Merseybeats, Wayne Fontana,
John Walker (of the Walker Brothers) and the Dakotas. |

The Saturday night Banquet and Ball will feature eighteen piece big band - Chris Smith’s String of Pearls Orchestra. |

As a trombonist, Chris Smith is known throughout the music business for his professionalism
and musical flair. During the 1960’s Chris was a member of John Dankworth’s band and later played
with the Ted Heath Orchestra until Ted’s retirement. By 1970 Chris was a permanent member of the
Jack Parnell TV Orchestra, where he was to remain for almost 15 years, taking part in all the major
TV shows at ATV Borehamwood, including many Royal Command Performances. |
