There are four avenues of Youth Exchange: |

The Long Term Youth Exchange Programme which offers 15 to 19 year olds a unique opportunity to spend time abroad and continue their education. They will live with a host family and spend twelve months learning all about the lives and culture of the host family - they will learn a lot about themselves too! |
• Applicants should be above average students who have demonstrated service to their community and possess the potential to be an excellent cultural ambassador. • Inbound students are encouraged to regularly attend Rotary meetings and social or other functions of their host Rotary Club. |
The Short Term Exchange Programme is a great way for 15 to 19 year olds to learn a little bit more about other countries..... and a lot more about themselves. It offers opportunities to: |
• spend a minimum of 3 weeks living abroad with a host family • tailor their time to make the most of their interests. • Improve language skills and make lasting friendships abroad |
In return participants will host their exchange partner for a similar period of time in their home. The exchange usually takes place in the school summer holiday period but with the southern hemisphere this may not necessarily be so and the return leg may be some weeks or months later. |
The New Generations Exchange Programme offers young adults between the ages of 18 and 25, an opportunity to gain work experience in another country |
• Rotarians use their business networks to find suitable vocational placements for participants • May take place at any time suitable to the Rotary Clubs involved and the young person’s own availability |
Youth Camps are special interest camps and tours for 15 to 25 year olds. The object of these is varied and can be for sport, culture, music, art, learning a language or just making international friends. The camps are free - Rotary Clubs simply select suitable and willing candidates and supply any financial support for travel that might be required. |
